Spherics, Inc., is an emerging, venture-backed pharmaceutical company that is applying its novel platform technologies (50+ patents issued) to develop a pipeline of products with improved therapeutic profiles for treating central nervous system (CNS) diseases.  These enabling technologies are also being used to provide enhanced drug delivery solutions for other pharmaceutical and biotech companies that are developing new products and establishing lifecycle management programs.   

We’re seeking an Analytical Chemist with a solid academic background for a contract position that might run three months or longer. You’ll be involved with developing multiple oral solid dosage formulations to be used for animal/human clinical testing and commercial production.

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply analytical research and development background to testing raw material samples, establishing HPLC/GC impurity and degradation profiles for active bulk drug (vendor evaluation) and drug product, and assisting in analytical method development and validation. 

• Help establish bioanalytal methods for in vivo analysis of drugs from plasma using HPLC-MS/MS and other in vivo assay techniques as required.

• Help perform and monitor stability testing of clinical and experimental formulations, mainly using HPLC and LC-MS/MS based test methods.   

• Maintain safety and cGMP guidelines, company policies, and procedures.

• Perform technical problem solving with an adequate background of wet chemical and instrumental methods of analysis.

• Personally interact in a team atmosphere, providing expertise and consultation on general analytical techniques. 

Education/Experience/Skills:

This position requires a BS with2 - 3 years of relevant lab experience. You should have theoretical and technical knowledge about HPLC separations of small molecules.  You must have excellent communications skills.
